The position is hybrid. Telework Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Onsite (5th floor of The Keystone Building (400 N St., Harrisburg, PA 17120)) Wednesday and Thursday. 

Local candidates are preferred

Initial interview will be virtual via Microsoft Teams followed by in-person onsite.

Required Experience: 10+ years DB2 experience

Description

Design and maintain DB2 Database applications which have the following characteristics:

  • Design for high availability.
  • Design for maximum performance.
  • Maintain and develop techniques and proceduresto provide 24x7 availability.
  • Provide production and test database support ina complex environment.
  • Perform all functions which are performed by a DB2 Database Administrator, such as: SQL code reviews.
  • Performance Monitoring and Tuning DB2 at theapplication database level.
  • Enforce appropriate DB2 security standards.
  • Collaborate with the DB2 systems programmingstaff to appropriately manage DSNZPARM settings.
  • Create, manage and support DB2 StoredProcedures, DB2 Triggers, and DB2 Referential Integrity.
  • Create Change Requests, Resolve ServiceRequests, Provide 24x7 On call support.
  • Provide DB2 Connect configuration access supportfor individual users and distributed systems.
  • Coordinate with team members on technicaldecisions and directions.
  • Work with Management to develop projectschedules.
  • Provide Database performance and tuning whichtypically involves collaboration between Data Center, Technical Operations,Database Design and Administration, and the various software development areas.
  • Responsible for the evaluation and creation ofappropriate backup and recovery strategies for new database requirements.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery planning.

Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of DB2 z/OSDatabase Support, including but not limited to the following:
  • z/OS DB2 12 for zOS or higher in a production environment with high transaction rates
  • High availability 24x7 designs and techniques
  • Managing large data stores
  • DB2 V10 utilities setup and execution
  • DB2 performance and tuning
  • Data Modeling expertise – logical and physical design
  • Complex SQL coding / tuning
  • Data Warehouse design with an understanding of OLAP design and query solutions
  • DB2 attachments/interfaces include DRDA, DB2Connect
  • DB2 tools skill set will include, but is notlimited to the following:
  • IBM Data Studio
  • IBM DB2 Administration Tool
  • IBM DB2 Automation Tool
  • IBM DB2 Explain
  • IBM DB2 Query Monitor
  • IBM OPTIM Workload Query Tuner
  • IBM File Manager
  • IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON
  • QMF

z/OS Mainframe skills, but notlimited to the following:

  • TSO and ISPF
  • JCL
  • DFSORT and /or ICETOOL
  • REXX
  • z/OS Utilities

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow and projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • DB2 V9 or V10 Certification preferred
  • IMS Database experience
  • IMS Database Utilities (IBM, BMC, NEON, etc.)
  • ETL tools experience (InfoShere, Informatica, etc.)
